The Kardashians and Their Empire

While the Kardashians are extremely well-known for their role in the entertainment industry, they also have built an empire of different brands and business ventures. From cosmetics to clothing to video games and even book deals, there are few business ventures that they haven’t attempted. As their influence was built up by a family of women, they attracted and inspired many people across the globe. Although many of the Kardashians' businesses gain attraction due to the Kardashian name, it has also resulted from their genius marketing. Though many of their 26 total entrepreneurial ideas did not make it far, they have numerous multi-million and billion-dollar brands that stem from the Kardashian/Jenner name.
Beginning with their claim to fame, the first thing that brought the Kardashians to the world stage was their popular TV series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. They entered this show only owning their first clothing store called DASH. With the three sisters, Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney working here, fame soon started to rise as the series went on. With the help of their mom, Kris Jenner, and her genius business advice and ideas, they knew they could not put this opportunity to waste.
First up is Kourtney, a partial owner of the original Dash boutique. Her goal and what she aims to promote within all of her businesses is bringing sustainability into each of the industries she enters. Although Kourtney has multiple businesses, her most widely known brand, Poosh, aims to provide wellness and self-care advice without any judgment. Poosh is a platform that gives advice on a wide range of topics. Her most recent announcement is the brand Lemme, which is focused on inner wellness. It is a vitamin supplement line aimed to help with feeling good in your everyday life. Khloe Kardashian’s most popular brand, Good American, helps promote body positivity. She created it to stand up to those who have body-shamed her in the past. She uses this brand to empower women to feel comfortable in their bodies.
Next up is Kendall Jenner, who was the highest-paid actor in the world in 2018. Kendall started her acting career when her mom helped her get signed to Wilhemina Models in 2009 at the age of 14. Now, Kendall Jenner walks and models for countless high-end brands including Chanel, Givenchy, and Marc Jacobs. Although Kendall gained a lot of popularity through her modeling, she has multiple businesses to accompany her modeling portfolio. Starting in 2012, Kendall and her sister Kylie worked with Pac Sun to begin a clothing line. Since then, Kendall has started MOON, and more recently, 818 Tequila. MOON is an oral hygiene line, made to reveal a whiter smile over time. Its formula is 100% vegan free and sells many things like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and a whitening pen. Her other brand, 818 Tequila has won 25 blind taste-testing awards across multiple major industries. They used traditional methods in Mexico at a family-owned distillery to create this popular drink.
Last but most certainly not least, the two most well-known and wealthiest members of the family are Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner. In 2014, Kylie Jenner came out with Kylie Cosmetics, which quickly became extremely popular. She is the youngest self-made billionaire and is one of the top-followed celebrities on social media. Kylie’s Lip Kits became one of the most popular products in her brand. The demand for these lip kits grew, and Kylie increased the variety of products that were being sold. She soon branched out to include Kylie Skin, Kylie Baby, Kylie Swim, and more. Kim Kardashian is also known as one of the starters of the Kardashian empire. Her most successful brand, SKIMS, is worth 3.2 billion dollars. SKIMS focuses on body positivity and inclusivity across all body sizes. It aims to introduce the next generation of underwear, loungewear, and shapewear. Along with KKW Fragrance and KKW Beauty, Kim has had many successful and desired brands.
Although the Kardashians and Jenners have dated many celebrities and been in many scandals which help boost their name and exposure to each of their brands, ultimately they are an extremely successful and hardworking family. By using brilliant marketing skills with the help of the ultimate momager, Kris Jenner, this family deserves to be where they are and have the success that they have gained over time.
